Restored
teeth or implant reconstructions need at least as much , if
not more maintenance than teeth, and it is important that
a proper regimen is adhered to once treatment is complete.
A patient who has had gum disease will always
be vulnerable to gum disease, and needs to be that much more
careful with their oral hygiene. (Link to hygiene services).
A patient who has had decay in the past will
continue to experience problems with decay unless they change
their sugar frequency – crowns do not protect teeth
from decay – they only restore the tooth.
Patients who have had complex treatment also
need regular examination by a dentist so that any problems
may be picked up and dealt with at an early stage.
